Romania Located 689 Persons Subject to Schengen Information System Alerts Within 6 Days
According to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, during the above-mentioned six-day period, the authorities also seized 30 documents and found 41 vehicle plates sought by the system, AtoZSerwisPlus.ro reports.
“471 people who are the subject of alerts in the SIS have been located on the territory of our country, following the additional exchange of information through the SIRENE Bureau of the International Police Cooperation Centre,” the statement of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police reads.
Moreover, the same said that a total of 18 European arrest warrants have been implemented and pointed out that the authorities have detected 115 persons who were refused entry into the Schengen Area by one of the Member States.
In addition to the above-mentioned, the authorities revealed that they also detected 212 persons wanted to participate in a judicial procedure as well as 12 persons reported as missing by the countries of the Schengen Area.
The Romanian police have also identified another 218 persons wanted by the country’s authorities following the information exchange through the SIRENE Bureau.
Of the total number of these 218 persons, 23 of them were wanted by the Romanian police and 18 of them were reported by the Member States after they were refused entry into the area. Furthermore, another 29 of them were wanted for participating in a judicial procedure, and seven of them were reported as missing by the authorities of Romania.
